It’s pretty obvious Smartphones are now a part of our life. Just a look around you, pretty much everyone has one of these new touchscreen mobile phones right now. Whether they run Android, iOS , Windows Mobile 7 or anything else is not important, what matters is the fact that they’re nothing like the phones we used to have only 2 or 3 years ago.
However, there is this niche for pink mobile phones. I’m not the kind to buy such a device, but I have plenty of friends who owned at least a pink phone in the last years. However, with Smartphones, they only get limited choices.
But first, how can you characterize a smart-phone? We’re not going to get into details, but basically it’s a phone able to do more than just handle calls and messages. It can go Online, it comes with plenty of applications, it can act as an organizer, as a personal assistant or a travel companion, running all sorts of multimedia and audio content. Plus, some might say that a Smartphone must also include a touchscreen, but that’s not necessarily true, although pretty much all good cell phones launched recently come with touch displays.
Anyway, with that in mind, let’s get back to pink Smartphones. First of all, if you’re looking to buy a top device, something in the same class as the iPhone 4S or the Samsung Galaxy S2, you’ll be disappointed. If you want a medium to top Smartphone in pink, you won’t find any either. So, what’s left?
Well, the only pink Smartphones available right now are rather cheap and I’d also say, rather old. Personally I just couldn’t find anything I’d call a proper smartphone available in pink in the US.
I did find a couple of devices though, like the LG Cookie, Nokia C3, Blackberry Curve 8330 or a bunch of Samsungs , including the S5230, B3310 or the Blackjack 2. You might notice that they are all cheap, usually the kind of phones you get for free with a contract or during the winter sales, like on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Also, most of them come with touscscreens and also physical QWERTY keyboards, so that suggest they’re mostly used by young people for texting, chatting and going online on social media services.
That’s why I feel like, while that might sounds like a stereotype, teenage girls or maybe younger are the main target for pink Smartphones. So no wonder producers are also offering Hello Kitty or Disney branded series as well.
However, what if you’re a grown up, want a proper modern smartphone and still need it dressed in pink? Well, there’s a solution for you as well: you can get the standard phone you crave for, but first go online and search for some suitable pink cases for it and see if you’ll find anything you might like. For the popular names, including the latest HTCs, Samsungs, LGs or the iPhone, you’ll find plenty of options to choose from. And since adding a protection cover to your phone is always a smart move, you can shoot two rabbits and end up with a pink smartphone that can meet all your needs.
To wrap things up, if you need a pink smarpthone, you can either choose an older version for cheap, or get a modern one and dress it up with a pink protection case. Both options have their pros and cons and should be enough to satisfy all the pink cell phone lovers out there.
