This phone – officially the Samsung Strive SGH-A687 purple – is one of those devices where the color is debatable. Its particular hue of purple is close enough to pink that I consider it worth discussing here.

The Samsung Strive is a reasonably priced messaging phone. It is not a top of the line device so does not incorporate all the features of the latest pink smart phones, but for the price it is feature packed.
The device has very respectable performance and user-friendly design. It incorporates a traditional QWERTY keyboard – accessed by sliding the front of the phone up – and a 2.6 inch display with resolution of 320×240 pixels. Weighing in at only 4oz it is a very light phone.
Menus and settings in the device are easily accessed and changed with a minimum of the confusion often seen in pink mobile phone competitors.
The keyboard is rather small on this particular pink cell phone, but is comparable in size to that of a blackberry. After a little usage you should grow accustomed to the device and be able to send text messages as quickly as is possible on any other pink cell phone.

On the negative side, the camera in the Samsung Strive could be better. Lacking a flash the quality of photographs taken with this particular pink mobile phone will suffer in low light conditions.

Overall the Samsung Strive SGH-A687 Purple (or pink!) is a good quality phone for its price point. This is one of the best pink phones for text crazy teenagers, and AT&T is giving this particular pink mobile phone away for free with contract commitment.
